When you decide to go into business on the internet, wholesale dropshipping is one solid way to make an income. That is if you prepare your adventure well and take your time to research, learn and set up the business. Selling through wholesale dropshipping is quite different than just selling a few items on an auction site. So think hard whether you want to spend a lot of time setting your business up before you dive in.
The first thing to find out is what it is you will be selling. Now here a lot of people or making a big mistake. They pick out products they themselves like. While that is very understandable when you have a brick and mortar business in which you have to ‘live’ 10 hours a day, this is not a wise move on the internet. In the wholesale dropshipping business you do not have an inventory yourself, you do not handle the goods yourself, so it is not important what you sell as long as you sell.
In other words it is the market that decides what you are going to sell. You have to find a so-called niche where the competition is not murderous yet in order to establish yourself as an online seller. If that niche happens to concur with your personal interest, fine. But there is no point in being seller #4587 who offers childrens DVD’s online. Chances are you never sell one single DVD… That is a waste of time, effort and money.
So you go browse and browse and browse some more on the internet to find out what it is people are looking for and that is not available on every corner of the street. That might be your niche! Then you have to find out what other products in that same niche are any interesting. Because it is kind of boring just to sell one product. On the other hand it is not a good idea to sell pet food and watches, just to name a silly combination. You get the picture. If you are going to sell pet food than you can look for other items in the pet corner and see if there is a demand for that.
Once you decided what niche you want to work in you have to find a reliable wholesale dropshipping company that does as it promises. The last thing you are waiting for is complaints from your customers that the goods are not delivered, not in good order or totally wrong. So again you are going to do some research, find out what other sellers think of different companies and then you decide with which one you want to do business with.
