There are businesses who are making millions from online marketing. There are chain-stores making millions from superior demographic reach and offline marketing. What if you combined offline marketing with online business?
The results could be explosive. There is a growing awareness that internet marketing has lost its appeal due to the high failure rate. This result can be attributed to poor understanding of diverse marketing strategies. Search engines are only one type of marketing amongst a myriad of marketing strategies. None inherently superior to the other.
The average consumer is bombarded with marketing messages at every turn before they turn on their computer. By this time they just want to do what they have to do and get back to their family. And Wham, they get your email. Do you blame them for hitting the delete button? Or the inflamed “Do not email me again?”
You are not to blame, its just that you happen to be the marketer who was around when he wished all the promises to end. This brings me to a crucial point. That prospect came online that day with a purpose. To check email from friends and work. Not to be marketed to. They do also check for specific websites they saw in the newspaper or on television.
Your website could be the site they want to read more about and the one they are using effort to recall while rejecting and deleting other people’s marketing emails. Imagine being intrigued by an advert that gave you a website to go to to learn more about a certain product or service. It will be quite a mission to memorise the website address or write it down and go to the computer and type out the actual address.
This process is highly selective because of the prevailing laziness that the internet promotes. Click and your life falls into place. People are realising that hard work pays out more in the long run and opt to do more for their goals. Your site being promoted offline gardeners more credibility and attracts more reliable clientele, not the super clickers who write sleazy comments on your opt in forms as their names.
This business of internet is a serious business and if you treat it as such you will be rewarded hundredfold.
This is the power of offline marketing. And the reach is limited by your imagination.
