Are you starting an online business?
If so, you must be looking for a dropship supplier, that is if you are not the one personally making and supplying your own merchandise.
Before you go ahead and look for a supplier, you must first determine what type of business you want to set up. If you have already determined this, then start looking for an appropriate source of your merchandise that you can trust.
There are a lot of drop shippers online and by simply using your favorite Internet search engine, you are sure to be presented with a list you can simply choose from. to be sure that you deal with a trustworthy and suitable one, there are some things you must consider.
The first one is cost. Will there be fees and will you be able to afford it if you are a starting merchant?
Wholesale suppliers may charge you monthly or annual fees. You can save more if you choose one that charges annually as compared to one that charges you a recurring fee every month. You can change your payment method once your business become more stable.
Is the return policy acceptable?
Online businesses are prone to exchanges and returns. You must develop your own business’s return or exchange policy and make sure that the supplier you get is the same or parallel to yours. You wouldn’t want a drop shipper to have a 14 day return policy if yours is 21 days would you?
Is the shipping and handling fee reasonable enough?
No matter how expensive the item you are getting, the shipping and handling fee should not go beyond $5.00. Use your own judgment and determine if the fee depending on the item is fair enough.
And of course your dropship supplier’s customer service should be accessible. To keep an online business up and running, communication is crucial. You have to make sure that your drop shipper can be reached whenever you need to. You cannot afford to deal with a drop shipper with poor customer assistance as this will make you look bad to your own clients.
